1. What Tracelap is

Tracelap is a GPS lap timer and driving-analysis app for use on race circuits, closed courses and authorised motorsport events (track days, hill climbs, rally stages). Lap times, sector times, deltas, coaching tips, pace notes and racing lines are estimates derived from GPS and sensor data. They are not certified for official timing and may be inaccurate.

2. Safe and lawful use

• Use Tracelap only on closed circuits or at events where speed and timing are authorised, and always follow the organiser's rules, marshals and flags.
• Never use Tracelap to time, race or compare driving on public roads. Respect all traffic laws.
• Do not interact with the app while driving. Set it up beforehand, mount the device securely, or have a passenger operate it.
• Wear the safety equipment required by the circuit or organiser, and drive within your abilities and your vehicle's limits.

3. Your responsibility

Motorsport is dangerous. You alone are responsible for how you drive, for your vehicle, and for complying with the law and with event rules. Coaching suggestions, pace notes and racing lines are informational only; follow them only where it is safe to do so.

4. No warranty and limitation of liability

Tracelap is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damage, injury, loss, fine or penalty arising from the use of the app or reliance on its data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

5. Purchases

The free version records a limited number of laps. "Tracelap Unlimited" is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple; refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.

6. Community leaderboards

If you opt in, your nickname, vehicle, lap time and lap trace are published to a public leaderboard. Don't use offensive nicknames. We may remove entries that look implausible or abusive.

7. Changes

We may update these terms; the app will ask you to accept material changes.
